Cork Local Voluntary Youth Council

The Cork Local Voluntary Youth Council was established under the aegis of the City of Cork and County Cork VECs, as the co-ordinating body for voluntary youthwork in Cork City and County. The Council’s activities are grant-aided by the Youth Affairs Section of the Department of Education and Science.

The Council sponsors a Youth Work Award Scheme to give recognition to the enormous contribution being made by young members and adult volunteers in youth organisations in Cork City and County.

A Co-Operative Grant Scheme is also in place to actively encourage youth organisations to work together.

The Council is made up of representatives of recognised local voluntary youth organisations in the Cork City and County areas.
