Special Projects for Youth

These grant-aided youth work initiatives aim to facilitate the personal and social development of participants to realise their potential and in addition, they present opportunities for young people to undertake actions corresponding to their own aspirations and to assume responsibilities within their local communities.

The City of Cork VEC contracts with Voluntary Youth Organisations i.e. Ogra Chorcaí, Foróige, YMCA and Youthwork Ireland for the operation of these Youth Projects, which are located in various communities around the city.

Tuition hours are also provided for part-time tutors who complement the skills of the Youth Officers employed under Spy Funding. These tutors engage young people in constructive and meaningful activity on a voluntary basis within their local communities.
