Budgetary Changes to Student Grants for 2011/2012

We have been advised by the Department of Education & Skills, that following the Government Budget of December 2011 a reduction of 3% will apply to all maintenance grants, effective from 1 January 2012.

Students studying at Level 8 or higher who are due arrears for their 1st instalment will be paid at the original rates.  All payments from the 1st January 2012 will be at the revised rates. 

Students studying at Level 5, Level 6 and level 7 who are due arrears for the months of September, October, November and December 2011 will be paid at the original rates.  Payments from the 1 February 2012 (in respect of January attendance) will be paid at the revised rates.

Please note if you have completed your Leaving Certificate in 2011 and will be attending university applications must be made to Cork City Council.
